Healed of Osteoarthritis, Hypothyroidism, and Impaired Vision

Jorunn Hansen, 78, has spent much of her life suffering from osteoarthritis, joint pain, hypothyroidism, and an eye injury. Through prayer, she experienced instant healing from all these conditions. Today, she is so healthy and active that she can hike in rugged mountain terrain—something she attributes entirely to Jesus.

Jorunn Hansen, originally from Sørrollnes in Ibestad, an island municipality in South Troms, shares her story:

A Journey of Faith

When asked if she grew up in a Christian home, Jorunn says, “My mother was a Christian, but there were few Christians in my family.” She accepted Jesus at a meeting in her hometown at the age of 14. She is a member of the Church of Norway but often attends services at the Pentecostal congregation, Sion, in Harstad.

“I’ve struggled with many ailments for years. I learned that I must take my burdens to Jesus,” she explains.

Osteoarthritis from a Life of Hard Work

Jorunn’s life has been filled with strenuous work. Starting as a housemaid at age 15, she worked in cleaning, retail, and the service industry, including as a waitress at the Sesam Café in Harstad and later in municipal canteens. While raising her two children, she balanced a daytime canteen job and an evening cleaning position at a medical office.

This demanding life took its toll, leading to significant joint wear and tear. The pain worsened over the years, particularly in her knees, but also affected her neck, back, fingers, hips, ankles, feet, and toes.

“My doctor said it was osteoarthritis. X-rays at Harstad Hospital clearly showed joint wear,” she says.

Limited Treatment Options

The only solution offered was pain medication. For 20 years, Jorunn endured the pain, finding it difficult to manage stairs or steep terrain. Walking down stairs was especially challenging due to a stiff knee, requiring her to develop a slow, laborious technique. At 62, she took early retirement due to her ailments.

Instant Healing

On June 3, 2023, Svein-Magne Pedersen spoke at a meeting in Kasfjord Baptist Church, near Harstad. Jorunn attended and went forward for prayer after the service.

“I didn’t feel anything immediately as he prayed,” Jorunn recalls. “But then he took my arm to walk down the aisle, and suddenly, my joints were flexible, and the pain was gone. I could run up and down—a miracle after years of immobility!”

Since then, Jorunn has regained her love of hiking and walking in rugged terrain without pain.

“I’ve hiked Gangsåstoppen several times—a popular spot with a shelter, tables, and benches for visitors. I was healed instantly, and I give all the glory to Jesus,” she says.

Healed of Hypothyroidism

This was not the first time Jorunn experienced miraculous healing. She had struggled with hypothyroidism for years, relying on medication for 14-15 years before stopping due to side effects like heart palpitations.

“My skin was extremely dry. No matter how much lotion I used, it stayed dry,” she recalls.

About six or seven years ago, while watching Svein-Magne Pedersen on Vision Norway, she followed his call to place her hand on the TV screen during prayer.

“I was instantly healed of hypothyroidism. I haven’t had any issues since,” she says.

Restored Vision

Jorunn also experienced a miracle with her vision. For 30 years, she had problems with one eye after an injury from a grass blade caused an infection and damage.

“Seven or eight years ago, I placed my hand on the TV screen during another Vision Norway healing broadcast with Svein-Magne Pedersen. The infection disappeared immediately, and my vision became as good as in my other eye,” she recounts.

Faith in Miracles

When asked if she shared these healings with her doctor, Jorunn admits,
“I didn’t mention the osteoarthritis, but I told them about my thyroid healing. The doctor said, ‘Yes, it’s possible for thyroid levels to normalize.’”

Jorunn firmly believes all her healings are divine miracles.
“I thank God for my good health and give all the glory to Jesus,” she concludes, radiating gratitude and energy.
